I hope you learn to fall into sorrow gracefully.
When you curl up with your head between your legs.
When you don't know whether you're crying anymore
or if its just the water from the shower pounding down
on your feeble face.
When you clutch your bare back and
leave butterfly bruises -
I hope you crouch into yourself
and see light.
elder Leap. Step off the roof of an elementary school I never even went to.
Catch the atmosphere in my shaking palms and shove it deep within a coat pocket
with a gold bracelet and a few folded dollar bills that meant everything.
Rattle a breathe of bitter air. Are we ever going to start making sense?
I don't think I'll ever forget those nights we watched the sun hide its face
beneath the most beautiful sunsets ever seen.
You held me because we loved loving each other - loved feeling the frostbite set into
un-gloved hands. What the hell were we thinking?
And now, two years later, I can feel a demon clawing at my back. Pushing.
Ripping at r
Tired when death comes
like the silence only a
fresh snow can bring -
a hush across the earth, a quiet full of placidity and
understanding.

when death comes
its voice will be soft and flow through my
bones,
like an open soul choked by a whisper of
heartache.
the sound will wrap around my humble palms
and the frost will shatter and reveal
everything i aspired to be

I want to step through the door of emotional wealth and
feel my aura reach out to my sons and daughters
know that its feirce colours once lit the world.

a silent soul

finally released

naked

spiraling to earth with the falling stars

but falling stars will always be a cliché

only worthy of being worn on a chain

a chunk of gaudy jewelry

worn down by

days that quickly turned to

months that turned into

a lifetime of

regret

but regret is a cliché too

so whats left to write?

let ink spill from an imaginary

bottle

pop that proverbial bubble

and allow it breath

to speak of

undesirable people smoking on

rooftops -

passion.

About holding onto unhealthy

memories just for the sake of

crying and selfpity and

eventual forgivness.

About keeping secrets and

hiding them between my matresses

where sometimes I wish even I

couldn't find them.

About shoving past all the

bitterness to love humankind again.

To trust again.

About holding hands and putting hearts in

lockets and jars and camera lenses.

I am about hearing the colours of

others souls in the words they

put on empty pages and

disheveled notebooks.

Hot air Balloon (: dedicated to a little girl called Taylor Mae who showed me this by pointing out the sliding glass and yelling "BIRD!!". Very cool to see something like this so close up.
